Split air conditioners capture almost 70% of the market as people prefer them in contrast with the window models. People, as buyers, are just concerned about the latest technologies offered in split ACs. To know why a split system air conditioner is called so, it is critical to understand its functionality. Regular servicing and air conditioner maintenance are essential to avoid expenses later.

Know how a split system air conditioner works?

  • The outdoor unit of a split air conditioner contains the refrigerant. The refrigerant is a gas pressurised into the compressor. There are numerous conduits or tubes in a ducted air conditioning unit through which the gas passes. It later condenses into liquid form.
  • This fluid then passes through the expansion joint and gets converted into a vaporous state. It releases a large amount of heat in the process.
  • The resultant gas is used for cooling the air at a low temperature, thus, It is called the refrigerant. It is a cyclic process which continues as the gas flows back into the compressor. Split air conditioner. The air of your room passes through the cavity containing evaporator coils. These coils carry gas at low temperatures, consequently cooling the air.
  • The thermostat present inside air conditioner units controls the temperature. The air continues to stay in the evaporator zone till the desired temperature is acquired, then, it is blown into the room.

Hence, your split system air conditioner sucks in the warm air and brings down its temperature before blowing it back into the room. The moisture inside the room condenses in the process, which is then removed through a channel pipe present in the outdoor unit. If the cooling of your cooling unit is influenced, it implies that there is an off-base thing in the condenser part.
